I am a creative and I am very visual. Taking someones words or thoughts and bringing them to life in a visual form is what I love to do.

Hi, I’m Lucie! I am a freelance designer and illustrator. I live and work in Clitheroe, Lancashire, UK. I was born here, I left, then I came back! I live with my husband, feral toddler and our one eyed cat, Pod. I love leopard print, breton stripes and red lipstick. I’m a cat lady, a coffee drinker and a foodie! Oh, and I can’t keep plants alive.

With a BA Hons (First class) degree in Contour Fashion, my career path has taken me from working in fashion and lingerie design for some of the UK’s biggest high street names, to pattern and graphic design, and in more recent years, to illustration.

I am experienced in a range of illustration techniques and styles, from hand drawn line work, to watercolour painting, to digital design and window illustration.

Since graduating from De Montfort University in 2009, I have built a strong and varied foundation in commercial design. I previously specialised in trend prediction, creative and technical garment design and print design for Ladies Nightwear, Loungewear, Lingerie, Essentials and Swimwear. I am also experienced in Mens and Kids nightwear. Clients have included Matalan, Norlanka Manufacturing, Studio, GWG Sleepwear, Bravissimo and Small & Awesome kids wear. My years in fashion allowed me to travel all over the world, from bases in both the UK and Sri Lanka.

Capitalising on my talents, I created the namesake sister brand Lucie Cooke Studio in 2018 and through this I offer hand drawn bespoke illustrations and colourful artwork in my distinct bold and bright, naive and playful style; as well as freelance illustration, Childrens book illustration and pattern design.

In addition to this, since 2019 I have been illustrating the windows and walls of homes and businesses across Lancashire. What started as a favour for a friend, quickly grew into one of the primary focuses of my work and is becoming the thing I am best known for. With 5 years experience of freelance illustration, window art came naturally, I just saw glass as a different type of canvas.
