Windows,
walls & boards
I started window illustration in early 2020, after I was asked by a friend to draw her shop display for her. I have been a freelance designer and illustrator for almost 5 years now working on many varied projects and with many different materials, so I just saw windows as a different type of canvas. It has grown at such a rate, window art is probably the thing I am now best known for.
Window art has such a wide ranging appeal and lets businesses show their fun side. You can be more expressive and bolder with design and colour choice due to the short term nature of a window display. I have illustrated windows for all sorts of businesses, from retail to schools to hospitality to offices and private homes. The scope of work also quickly grew to combine chalkboards and murals alongside the window art.
I love window drawing as it offers more freedom and variety and is much faster paced than other types of illustration. Each window is completely different to the last and my portfolio is ever evolving! My process always begins with a discussion with the client of what they want, sometimes they have a clear idea and sometimes they are open and let me have free reign. Depending on the idea and size of the window, sometimes I start with a sketch and map out the layout, anything with writing needs a bit more planning, but most of the time I just draw freehand and let the design develop. I use chalk paint pens and it is all drawn by hand.
Please drop me a message HERE if you would like to discuss window art or chalkboard or mural illustration. I am currently based in Clitheroe and cover Lancashire and Greater Manchester, but may be tempted to travel!

Draw Clitheroe 2022
I was part of the organisation team for the inaugural Drawing festival in Clitheroe, which proved to be a huge success and discussions for 2023 are already under way.
As part of the festival, I hosted an interactive window art event where members of the public were invited to join me in drawing a garden scene. Almost 200 people joined in and the results were just incredible!
There was also the Lucie Cooke trail, where participants could follow a map to visit all the windows with my artwork around Clitheroe town centre.
